Healing Addiction in our Community|
Healing Addiction in our Community (HAC) is a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to providing education and awareness surrounding the substance
abuse issues affecting NM. HAC was formed in April, 2010 by a group of parents and grandparents concerned about the rising use of heroin
and painkillers among Albuquerque teens. Many of our members have been affected by the devastating effects that addiction has had on our
families and our youth, and we decided to take action and do something about it. We provide education to parents, teens, educators,
coaches social workers, probation and parole, judges, legislatures, and health care professionals, about the drug problem plaguing our
community. We do this by holding seminars and building relationships with people and other organizations who share our same goals.
HAC members meet every other month. You can find notifications of our upcoming meetings on our Facebook page or by becoming a member and
receiving our member emails. While we are not a support group, being around people who have experienced similar tragedies with addiction
has helped bring comfort to those affected and has helped people find friendships in our meetings with those who have similar stories.
