About Serenity Mesa

Serenity Mesa provides transitional living services for young people (ages 14 to 21) who are struggling with an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol and may have a co-occurring disorder.

Serenity Mesa also has a rental assistance program for youth ages 17-24 who are experiencing homelessness or are precariously housed.

Serenity Mesa Recovery Center is a transitional living center located in Albuquerque, NM. Our care includes 90+ days of housing, individual and group therapy, life skills, high school education/GED prep, job readiness, daily life skills, medication management, education on living a healthy lifestyle, community engagement and service, and connecting to a sense of purpose. We focus on skills that will help our clients enter and sustain sobriety, re-enter their communities as strong, independent members, and learn the skills needed to live on their own. Serenity Mesa combines multiple tools of recovery under one roof. We offer evidence-based programming within a sober living environment, thus bringing a wide range of services and support systems together creating a solid continuum of care.

We recognize that recovery is more than just abstinence from drugs and alcohol; it is about putting together a new and meaningful life in which drugs and alcohol no longer have a place. We provide opportunities for clients to build a self-sufficient life, maintain positive, healthy relationships and explore new ways of living that do not include using substances. We will show clients that a sober life can be fun, is possible, and is well within their grasp.

Program Goals:

Our program goals focus on activities and therapies that will help our clients sustain sobriety and learn the skills necessary to live a successful life. Clients who stay at least 90 days should be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to live a drug-free, independent life. We will help them develop a sense of meaning and purpose that they may not have had before – a fresh new start at life.

  • We will work with each resident to help him or her establish a recovery plan that is customized to their own needs utilizing services at the facility as well as working with partners in the community.
  • We will use evidence-based approaches for treatment planning as well as alternative options that may be available in the community.
  • A large part of our program is teaching responsibility. All clients have a duty and responsibility to take care of Serenity Mesa as if it was their own home. This includes yard work, cleaning, cooking, laundry, pulling weeds, whatever is necessary to keep the Center nice and looking like a place where people want to live.
  • Program admission policies require that clients have a substance use disorder and are willing to enter treatment and follow policies and procedures.
